Michael Joseph is publishing a new cookbook from Jamie Oliver, Jamie’s Quick & Easy 5-Ingredient Food, this autumn to tie in with an eight-part primetime TV series on Channel 4 of the same name.
The book, which will be MJ's 20th with Oliver, is promised to be the TV chef's "clearest, simplest, most easy-to-use cookbook yet". It aims to help readers to see the value in combinations of five ingredients to create "no fuss", delicious meals - ultimately to get more people cooking. Each recipe will include a visual ingredient guide as well as a short easy-to-follow method.
The book will contain over 130 new recipes and includes chapters on "big-hitters" such as chicken, beef, pork and lamb recipes; "failsafe" fish dishes; recipes for eggs, veg and salads; pasta, rice and noodles ideas; and, lots of "insanely good" biscuits, cookies and sweet treats.
Oliver said: “The experience of writing this book and making the TV show that accompanies it has really inspired me, and to be honest, humbles me because sometimes the simplest things in life are the best. I can’t believe it’s taken me 20 years to work that out. This is beautifully clear, easy cooking. Every single recipe celebrates the amazing combination of just five ingredients, and believe me, this book is a total workhorse – it will hold your hand in the kitchen and make your mouth water at the same time. All of the recipes have had the most incredible feedback from our team of rigorous testers, who are both cooks and non-cooks. I’ve got a good feeling about this one – I can’t wait to get it out there.”
Louise Moore, m.d. at Michael Joseph, said: “We are so proud to publish Jamie and be supporting and collaborating with him on our 20th book with him. This is such a simple and brilliant concept and Jamie's recipes here are total game changers."
