Mitchell Beazley, part of the Octopus Publishing Group, has commissioned a new book from cookery writer and broadcaster, Kay Plunkett-Hogge.
A Sherry & A Little Plate of Tapas will be published at £15.99 in hardback on 8th August 2016. Octopus publisher Alison Starling acquired world rights direct from the author.
Kay, whose previous books include Make Mine a Martini (Mitchell Beazley), writes a weekly cocktail column for the Daily Telegraph.
A Sherry & A Little Plate of Tapas begins by exploring the mysteries of sherry, considering the five key types, how they’re made and served, with tips on the best food and sherry matches and a selection of sherry cocktails. The author then moves on to tapas, with chapters on cold tapas and latillas; "mounted" tapas, montaditos; pintxos, or "things on sticks"; and on cooked tapas, with chapters on vegetables, eggs and dairy, seafood and meat.
Starling said: "Kay’s background in the worlds of fashion, film and food ensures that she throws the very best parties. With Make Mine a Martini she created a new genre of cookbook, combining delicious drinks with food for sharing. It’s been a huge pleasure to work with her again on this exploration of tapas – surely the world’s most sociable food – and it’s now very fashionable partner, sherry."
