DK has promoted Monika Schlitzer to the newly created role of managing director of Dorling Kindersley's German arm, DK Verlag.
Schlitzer, previously publishing director, now takes overall responsibility for DK Verlag’s business.
Ian Hudson, DK c.e.o., said Schlitzer had created an "impressive" local and international publishing programme. Since joining DK Verlag in 2000, she has been part of the senior management team, and at DK, she has signed up new local talents such as Steffen Henssler, Alexander Herrmann and Frank Rosin, and German cookery brands such as Kochhaus, and published international household names, like Jamie Oliver and Yotam Ottolenghi.
Hudson said: “We are thrilled to announce this news today. Monika has immense experience as an innovative and successful publisher, creating an impressive local and international publishing programme. Under Monika’s leadership we plan to continue DK Verlag’s success story and grow the business for the future.”
Schlitzer said: “I’m very excited about this opportunity to lead the next phase of DK Verlag’s development and I look forward to working even more closely with our excellent teams in Munich and DK globally.”
