Nathan Hull, digital director at Penguin Random House, will join Danish e-book company Mofibo in December.
Hull’s appointment marks e-book subscription company Mofibo’s intention to enter the UK market following its success in Denmark. Mofibo is also poised to enter Sweden, and last week Simon & Schuster revealed a deal to allow its backlist titles to be read on the platform.
Hull will join in the role of chief business development director, and will work on all aspects of business, marketing and digital innovation, drawing on his experience at both PRH and Universal Music before that, where he worked on new streaming and subscription initiatives for major artists.
Hull said: “Mofibo is outstanding in its field and easily the best start-up I’ve encountered in my time at Penguin. I have always worked for the biggest and the best, and for brands that become household names— and in Mofibo I see the same, so I want to be an integral part of making that happen.”
Danish entrepreneur and founder of Mofibo, Morten Strunge, added: “Our vision is to redefine the way we consume books and take it to the next level in order to make books more accessible to everybody. Nathan is the right person for that job.”
