Nosy Crow has hired Nia Roberts, currently art director at HarperCollins Children’s Books, as its new head of design.
Roberts will join Nosy Crow on 4th October, replacing Stephanie Amster who is leaving to join Bloomsbury Children’s books at the end of July.
In her new job Roberts will develop Nosy Crow’s full-colour list, including board books, and non-fiction titles, but with a particular focus on the publisher’s picture book list. Nosy Crow has released 83 picture books in its five-year history.
Wilson said: “We’re so proud to have attracted someone of Nia’s calibre to Nosy Crow. Head of design is a critical role for us: the look and feel of our full-colour list has been, and will continue to be, such an important part of our success. We are confident that the creative, collaborative environment of Nosy Crow will be the ideal place for Nia’s huge talent to shine.”
Roberts, who has also worked at Simon and Schuster, Orchard Books, Kingfisher and Random House, added: “While I’ve greatly enjoyed my time at HarperCollins, the opportunity to work with Nosy Crow – a list I have admired since it started – was just too exciting to turn down. I’m very much looking forward to getting to work with the talented team and their excellent illustrators and authors.”
