Norwegian publisher Cappelen Damm AS is to launch titles from UK-based romance publisher Choc Lit as a new mass market series in 2017.
Cappelen Damm have bought the rights to use the Choc Lit branding and logo in Norway and will launch nine of Choc Lit’s titles in 2017.
Those titles include Please Don’t Stop the Music and I Don’t Want to Talk About It by Jane Lovering, Turning The Tide by Christine Stovell, Never Coming Home by Evonne Wareham, House of Secrets by Lynda Stacey, The Wedding Diary by Margaret James, Doctor January by Rhoda Baxter, Follow Me Follow You by Laura E James and Where Dragonflies Hover by AnneMarie Brear.
Choc Lit's managing director Lyn Vernham said: "We are thrilled to see the new launch with Cappelen Damm. This is an important stepping-stone for Choc Lit and it's going to be exciting to see the brand translate into the Norwegian market. It’s another tick in our expansion box."
Vernham added that while the company's titles are already distributed globally to the English market, its strategy is to expand the brand to foreign markets over the next few years. "I’m hugely honoured that such a prestigious publishing house has recognised the potential and given us this fabulous opportunity," she added.
Oda Skard, head of mass market division at Cappelen Damm, said: "We’re delighted to have come to an agreement to launch Choc Lit as a new mass market series in Norway. We love what the team at Choc Lit have created and produced and are so looking forward to working with them and seeing Choc Lit develop in Norway."
