Pan Macmillan has bought audio rights to 11 books from bestselling author Peter James, in a move to consolidate his audio publishing within the publisher.
The deal was negotiated by Wayne Brookes, fiction publishing director at Pan Macmillan and Carole Blake at Blake Friedmann.
The new deal includes backlisted titles one to six in James’ Roy Grace series, which were previously published by Isis Publishing and W F Howes, as well as the next three in the series. Two future standalone books are also included.
Published over the last week, the relaunched Roy Grace audiobooks mirror the paperback editions, with their distinctive neon spines.
The Roy Grace series, which began with Dead Simple, is now available from Pan Macmillan. Love You Dead (the 12th and latest in the Roy Grace series) will be released on 19th May. All titles in the series can be found on Audible. Narrators include Daniel Weyman, Jamie Glover, David Bauckham and Tim Bruce.
Rebecca Lloyd, Pan Macmillan's publishing director for audio, who is overseeing the re-launch, said: “This is an exciting step that sees Peter’s audio publishing unified under one roof and ensures audio is available across all formats and in all markets. Peter is one of our best-loved authors and it's exciting to finally have all the Roy Grace titles together.”
Blake added: “We are delighted with this ground-breaking separate audio deal and joint commitment – it’s an exciting extension to the Peter James brand.”
