Pavilion Books has signed the "definitive" guide to healthy eating by the founder of organic supermarket Planet Organic, Renée Elliott.
Publishing director Katie Cowan acquired world rights in all languages to the book direct from the author.
What to Eat and How to Eat It, publishing in June 2017, will offer a "long-awaited authoritative and authentic voice" to the "booming" health and wellness market.
The book takes 99 ingredients and offers information on health benefits, selection, preparation and cooking, plus "thoroughly usable and delicious recipe suggestions that are quick to prepare, simple to cook and rewarding to eat". The ingredients are divided into 10 grocery categories covering basic food groups and including nuts, seeds, sea veg, fermented foods and other "interesting" ingredients.
Written by Elliott in collaboration with the buyers of organic supermarket Planet Organic, the result is a "definitive guide" to incorporating "the most nutritional foods" into everyday meals.
Elliott said: “My mission is to promote health in the community. What to Eat and How to Eat It will be a new modern classic that cuts through the mass of conflicting information about food, and is a guide to boosting health by knowing how to eat nature’s greatest ingredients, from baobab to broccoli, buckwheat and beyond. The team at Pavilion completely see the need for this definitive recipe book, which will enable busy health-conscious people to cook foods such as quinoa in the best possible way, and within the time available to them, without having to search websites.”
Elliott, an author and entrepreneur, founded Planet Organic, an organic supermarket in 1995.
What to Eat and How to Eat It will be published by Pavilion in June 2017.
