Mark Mills, owner of the Plum Pudding Illustration Agency, and former Bloomsbury editor Fiz Osborne, are setting up a new children’s literary agency.
Plum Literary will be based in Reigate, Surrey, and cater for writers for all kinds of children’s books, from picture books to YA.
Osborne, whose previous role was senior editor on the illustrated publishing list at Bloomsbury Children’s, said: “Mark and I are using our combined experience to build an agency that’s approachable, fair and always looking forward. We’re enormously excited to launch Plum Literary and represent talented creatives – both new and established – within the children’s book industry.”
She said Plum Literary will act as both an agency and a consultancy for writers who are looking to get published.
The agency has already signed writer Alice Hemming, television correspondent Catherine Jacob and writer-illustrator Kate Pankhurst. The new clients are writing a “mixture of picture books, young fiction and non-fiction texts”, said Osborne.
Plum Literary and Plum Pudding have also jointly signed writer-illustrator Rob Jones.
Osborne can be contacted at the agency via email on hello@plumliterary.com.
