Terraria video game publishing programme announced

Penguin Random House (PRH) Children’s is set to publish a series of books about Terraria, a video game that allows players to build their own environment.

The game, launched for Microsoft in 2011, was one of the top 10 paid ipad apps in October 2015 and was one of the top three games trending on YouTube earlier this year, according to PRH Children’s.

The first book, Terraria: the Ultimate Survival Handbook, gives tips on the game, including how to build bases and mine for materials. It will be published on 7th July in hardback priced at £7.99.

A second book, Terraria: Craft and Construction Handbook, will follow in September, then a third, Terraria: Exploration and Adventure Handbook, in November.

PRH acquired the publishing rights from Jazwares, the global master toy partner for Terraria.
