Penguin Random House (PRH) Children’s is taking over the children’s section of the OnBlackheath Festival with "Puffin World of Stories", an immersive story space for children under 12.
At the festival, which will take place in London's Blackheath on 10-11th September, PRH Children’s will create a book area comprising a Talking Maze, a Village Green Sports Day and circus workshops. Puffin brands and characters, including Peter Rabbit and Wimpy Kid, will feature, as will the authors David O’Doherty and Sophy Henn.
The partnership was struck between Penguin Random House Enterprises and Harvey Goldsmith, the arts promotor who set up OnBlackheath.
Jo Edwards, head of Penguin Random House Enterprises, said: “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Harvey Goldsmith to bring Puffin World of Stories to OnBlackheath this September. With storytelling at its heart, and a jam-packed schedule of stage performances, games, arts and crafts, music and outdoor adventures, Puffin World of Stories will inspire children with a weekend of book-filled fun.”
Goldsmith added: “Reading is so important for children so we saw Puffin Books as the perfect fit for our family element of the festival. We’ve got some great things lined up with a few surprises.”
Last year, 36,000 visitors attended OnFestival, according to PRH.
