Quercus is releasing a new tranche of titles in the Enid Blyton for Grown Ups series from Bruno Vincent to help readers celebrate Mother's Day, Father's Day and get "beach body ready" for the summer holidays.
The new titles include Five Forget Mothers' Day, Five Lose Dad in the Garden Centre and Five Get Beach Body Ready.
First to be released is Five Forget Mother's Day in hardback on 23rd February, priced £7.99.
The blurb urges readers to join Famous Five characters Julian, George, Dick, Anne and Timmy the dog as they try to celebrate Mother's Day with Aunt Fanny. It reads: "George is on thin ice having forgotten her mum’s birthday and Christmas presents, so tensions are running high... But things go from bad to worse when Fanny comes to stay, with relations strained almost to breaking point. Can the Five save the day, and will Uncle Quentin get involved?"
Five Lose Dad in a Garden Centre and Five Get Beach Body Ready will be published on 18th May and 1st June respectively, also priced £7.99, with artwork to be finalised.
In Five Lose Dad in a Garden Centre, directed towards the gifting market ahead of Father's Day in June, Julian, George, Dick, Anne and Timmy the dog take Uncle Quentin to the local garden centre to chose a present for Father's Day. "But what promised to be a relaxed outing turns into a nightmare when Quentin disappears into thin air," the publisher said.
In Five Get Beach Body Ready, the gang are keen to hone their physiques ready for the summer holidays. "All it will take is a bit of effort and willpower ...and pulling together as a team. What could possibly stand in their way?" the blurb reads.
Quercus has now printed 1,637,500 books in the series, with Five on Brexit Island selling 372,201 for £1.95m according to Nielsen BookScan. Combined the series has sold 852,593 copies for £4.42m, according to BookScan figures.
