Quercus has launched a Christmas campaign to celebrate the joy of giving and receiving books.
As part of the Greatest Gift campaign, 15 key bloggers and BookTubers will upload a post explaining why they think books are the greatest gift to give. Each Greatest Gift “blog tour partner” will also run a competition for their audience to win a bundle of Quercus books.
Those taking part include The Mile Long Bookshelf, Chick Lit Pad, Novelicious and Franny and Perks.
Quercus will also invite bookshops to share their passion for books during December and encourage people to buy books as gifts for Christmas, and is making printed materials including postcards, posters and bookmarks available to bookshops and bloggers.
An online campaign will run on social media using the hashtag #GreatestGift, asking which books people will be giving at Christmas and talking about why books make the best gifts.
Quercus will also be at the Baker Street Quarter Christmas market in London on 10th and 11th December hosting an exclusive two-day sale on a number of its books, including signed copies.
Meanwhile Penguin Random House has launched an online campaign through Instagram, using the hashtag #SeasonsReadings.
The book-a-day challenge asks people to share photos on Instagram to a different theme every day until Christmas. At the end of December Penguin Random House will give prizes to the best entries.
As part of #SeasonsReadings Penguin Random House has also made a video featuring a number of its authors, including Zoella, John Cleese, Caitlin Moran and Malorie Blackman, receiving Secret Santa presents of books.
