Richard Scrivener is to leave his post as commercial and operations director of Templar with effect from 30th June 2009. Scrivener is to set up his own agency.
Richard joined Templar as a board director in April 2007, having worked in a consultant capacity for the previous 15 months. Scrivener said he planned to offer authors, artists and clients rights expertise in publishing, media and licensing. Scrivener said: "These past three years have been some of the most enjoyable of my career and it’s been a real pleasure to have worked in such a creative environment. But I’ve been thinking for some time of setting up my own agency and the time seemed right."
Templar was acquired by the Bonnier Group in September last year. Amanda Wood, Templar's m.d., said: "During his time with us, Richard has made truly fantastic contribution to Templar’s business. Not just in the areas of licensing and film/tv, where he really put Templar on the map, but also more recently in helping us successfully launch our fiction list."
