The Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group has promoted Jenny Cima into to the position of director, international sales and marketing, with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Ken Rhodes, m.d. of R&L's distribution and publisher services subsidiary NBN International, will leave the company at the end of October.
Based in London, Cima will be responsible for the promotion and sales of the group’s lists, which span a wide range of academic, professional and trade publishing, in all markets outside North America.
Oliver Gadsby, president of the group’s academic and professional division, said: “Jenny has done a superb job since joining our team in 2014 as head of international sales. She has helped to build consistent double-digit growth in the group’s sales across the globe, and we are expanding both Jenny’s responsibilities and the team which works with her. Jenny is superbly qualified to grow sales of our US lists, and also to support the further expansion of Rowman & Littlefield International, whose editorial team is based in London.”
Cima said: “I am delighted to step up to this new role with Rowman & Littlefield, and very optimistic about the prospects for our lists across the world. I’m just back from a sales trip to Asia, and of course looking forward to the Frankfurt Book Fair. Our lists, with strengths across the Humanities and Social Sciences, and in various specialist consumer segments of the trade market, have broad international appeal, and we have significant growth ahead of us.”
Rhodes, who has been managing director of Plymouth-based NBN International since 2012, will leave the company at the end of October to take up another role in the industry. Gadsby will take on the leadership of the company as chairman of NBN International, alongside his publishing responsibilities; in doing so, he will work with the capable and established management team based in Plymouth.
