Scholastic UK signs more Tom Gates

Scholastic UK has acquired more Tom Gates titles from author and illustrator Liz Pichon.

The deal, for a Tom Gates companion book for 2018, a Tom Gates novel for 2019 and a Tom Gates colouring book, was struck between fiction and picture book publisher Samantha Selby Smith and agent Caroline Walsh at David Higham Associates.

Pichon, who was recently announced as the official illustrator for World Book Day 2017, is one of the most successful children’s book writers and illustrators currently working in the UK, with sales of £3.8m in 2015, according to Neilsen BookScan.

Her Tom Gates have sold over 2.25 million copies in the UK and have been translated into 41 languages, said Scholastic.
