Sphere non-fiction has acquired a debut health and fitness book by Instagram sensation Faya Nilsson, a personal trainer and winner of Cosmopolitan’s Lifestyle Blogger of the Year for her blog, fitnessontoast.com.
Editorial director Hannah Boursnell acquired world rights in Fit in 3 at auction from Danielle Zigner at LBA Books in partnership with Nicholas Douglas at PRJCT Management.
Fit in 3 is described as taking a holistic approach to wellness, drawing on the author's years of experience as a personal trainer and her Swedish upbringing. The "Fit in 3 formula" is penned as the simple equation: "mindfulness + nutrition + exercise = sustainable wellness", to be reflected in the book's focus on the mind as much as the body, and including recipes to nourish both.
Nilsson works with multinational brands including L'Oreal, Westin Hotels and Adidas, who have signed her up to be their digital ambassador for their women’s performance wear. She has over 90,000 followers on her Instagram account and her blog receives more than 100,000 unique hits every month. She commented: "I’ve spent a decade of my professional life watching wave after wave of fitness fads fade away; eventually, they just stop working for the people who try them, because they’re impossible to maintain. The wheel needs reinventing! Influenced by my Scandinavian heritage, I’ve crafted Fit in 3 – a far more sustainable, permanent and enjoyable method which will arm you with all the practical tools and knowledge to stay healthy for life, whether you’re in your twenties or eighties. I’m overjoyed that my friends at Little, Brown completely understand this ethos, and are just as excited as me to share it!"
Boursnell said: "I am over the moon to be publishing Faya’s brilliant book. I love her refreshing, grounded approach to wellness and I believe the Fit in 3 message will be the one to cut through the all the ‘new you’ noise next January and genuinely help people to make more conscious choices about the food they eat and the way they treat their bodies. FIT IN 3 will be a huge focus title for Sphere in 2017, and I’m excited to start moving forward with our ambitious plans alongside Faya and her team."
Zigner said: "I’m delighted that Sphere will be publishing Faya’s first book. She has been taking the health and fitness world by storm with her fresh, holistic approach to wellbeing and I’m so excited for her to share that message with a wider audience."
Fit in 3 will be published as a fully illustrated trade paperback and e-book at the end of December 2016.
