Stead moves up at Atlantic

Atlantic Books has appointed Margaret Stead as editorial director. Stead will join Atlantic on 26th April replacing Caroline Knight, who has resigned. Stead was previously editorial director of The Harvill Press. Knight will also continue to do work for the company when she is fully established in her new home in Kent.

Additionally, Frances Owen has been promoted from publicity manager to publicity director and will work with Rina Gill who recently joined the company as publicity director for Corvus. Both will report to Karen Duffy who had been promoted to head of publicity & associate publisher for the company as a whole. She was previously publicity director & associate publisher.

Vanessa Kerr will continue in her role as rights manager but also becomes e-book and audio publishing manager, reporting to Valerie Duff, rights director.
