From till point ticklers to luxury titles that will blow the budget and books that will make the perfect gifts, The Bookseller’s Features and Insight team has curated a list of must-stock titles for this Christmas.
Ranging from celebrity biographies and high-end picture books, to books in translation and "ones to watch" from new british talent, the list reveals what we believe will both grab attention and secure sales in December.
Our till point ticklers are all low price point books that will make perfect add-on sales during the festive season, including Lost and Found: True tales of love and rescue from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (Penguin); Adam Hurrey’s Football Cliches (Headline) and the topical We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (Fourth Estate).
At the other end of the scale, our pick of blow the budget titles includes the £135 75 Years of Marvel Comics by Ray Thomas (Taschen) as well as Moomin: The Deluxe Anniversary Edition by Tove Jannson (Drawn and Quarterly) and Game Of Thrones: A Pop-Up Guide by Matthew Reinhart (Bantam Press).
Other perfect gifts tipped for sales success by The Bookseller are Anthony Holden and Ben Holden’s poetry collection Poems That Make Grown Men Cry (Simon & Schuster); Knowledge Is Beautiful but the the king of infographics David McCandless (William Collins) and You Are Here: Around The World in 92 Days, a virtual orbit of Earth by bestselling author and astronaut Chris Hadfield (Macmillan).
