PRH division Transworld has said it is "deeply shocked and saddened" by the death of writer and actor Carrie Fisher.
Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, died in hospital on Tuesday (27th December). She had suffered a massive heart attack on a flight back to the US from London after concluding a UK publicity tour for her latest book The Princess Diarist (Bantam, November), which made use of the diaries she wrote when acting in the first Star Wars film. The tour included an event at Waterstones Piccadilly (11th December) and an appearance on BBC's "Graham Norton Show."
In a brief statement, Transworld said: "We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Carrie Fisher. Our thoughts are with her family and friends."
Fisher was also the author of Postcards From the Edge, Wishful Drinking and Shockaholic, all published by Simon & Schuster.
