John Murray imprint Two Roads has acquired the follow-up to Arthur: The dog who crossed the jungle to find a home, for publication in September 2017.
The first book, which told the story of a plucky stray dog from Ecuador who followed adventure racer Mikael Lindnord and his team hundreds of miles through the jungle, sold over 37,000 hardbacks TCM and in five countries, according to John Murray.
The new book, Arthur and Friends, tells the story of Arthur’s new adventures in Sweden, and also incorporates the stories of other rescue dogs and their owners from around the world, from Ecuador and Europe to Australia and America.
Kate Hewson, senior editor at Two Roads, said: "Arthur has stolen the hearts of dog lovers everywhere, and the incredible response to the first book showed just how many people have their own ‘Arthur’. We’re thrilled to be publishing Arthur’s story alongside all his friends, and encouraging people to 'adopt, don’t shop' at the same time."
