Vintage indie competition now open to Irish booksellers

Vintage has launched its 6th Independent Bookseller of the Summer competition, which is open to independents in Ireland for the first time.

The prize is awarded to the shop that, in the judges’ opinion, has sold and promoted Vintage books "with the most creativity and passion", whether in their shops or online.

The winner will be announced at Vintage’s autumn Independent Booksellers’ Conference, where bestselling author Sebastian Faulks will present the £1,000 award. Runners up receive £500 and £250 for second and third place, respectively.

All winnings can be spent however the store owners choose and extra terms will also be given to the three winners. Vintage also rewards the sales rep who has distinguished themselves most in their efforts on behalf of the competition. 

Past winners of the £1,000 cheque are The Bookshop Kibworth (2015), Slightly Foxed, London (2014), Storytellers, Inc., Lytham St Annes (2013), Chorleywood Bookshop (2012) and White Horse Bookshop, Marlborough (2011).

The competition will be open until 2nd September 2016 to all independents in the UK and Ireland.
