Backlist titles from William Boyd and Jonathan Coe are among the novels selected for the latest Waterstones Book Club.
Altogether three of the eight titles are published by Penguin – A Good Man in Africa by William Boyd, first published by Penguin in 1982, What a Carve Up by Jonathan Coe and Etta and Otto and Russell and James by Emma Hooper, published this year.
The other titles which will be promoted through the Waterstones estate are My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante (Europa Editions), A Place Called Winter by Patrick Gale (Tinder Press), Late Fragments by Kate Gross (William Collins), Leaving Berlin by Joseph Kanon (Simon & Schuster) and A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler (Vintage).
Waterstones’ fiction buyer, Chris White, said: “The philosophy behind our book club is very simple; we want to introduce our customers to books they will enjoy. Backlist or frontlist, fiction, non-fiction we simply want to bring the best books to a wider audience. Our latest selection fulfils the brief with aplomb.”
