WH Smith appoints McKechnie as travel director
Retailer WH Smith has appointed Gavin McKechnie as the international operations director of its travel division.
In the new role, McKechnie will oversee WH Smith Travel’s operations in Europe and the Middle East. He will report to international director Louis de Bourgoing.
WH Smith Travel m.d. Carl Cowling said: “We are delighted to welcome Gavin to WH Smith and with his extensive travel retail experience we are confident that he will drive the business forward and be a valuable member of the senior management team.”
McKechnie has spent more than 15 years in the travel sector in various senior positions, including seven years with World Duty Free, and more recently as VP Commercial for Abu Dhabi Airport.
