Yale University Press, London, has confirmed there have been more redundancies at the company following the departure of former publisher for art and architecture Gillian Malpass last month.
The Bookseller understands that five people have so far been made redundant from departments across the company, including the departure of Malpass in June, with the consultation process likely to come to a close in the near future.
The company is currently reorganising in a bid to "modernise and position itself for growth, reflecting changes in the industry at large" according to managing director of YUPL Heather McCallum, with the changes designed to "reinforce the company's commitment to scholarly art publishing while also strengthening its ability to build on new art publishing opportunities in a changing marketplace".
Former Faber publisher Julian Loose is to join the company as editorial director for trade and academic in October.
