Zoe Sugg, a.k.a. the vlogger Zoella, has revealed that her third novel will be titled Going Solo (Penguin Random House Children’s).
In the book, the third in the Girl Online series, Penny accepts an invitation to visit Megan’s performing arts school after Noah goes off the radar. It will be released on 17th November (h/b, £12.99), although the first three chapters will be published in the paperback edition of Girl Online: On Tour, which is out on 14th July.
Sugg announced the title and the book’s new cover in a vlog. She said: “I’m so happy that I can share this with you, I feel like there’s a lot of cool little hints on the cover and of course the title is a big hint as to the theme of the book and what is going to be happen with Penny and Noah and I’m so excited for you guys to find out.”
Sugg also announced that she now has her own Twitter emoji, revealing that every time someone tweets the hashtags #GoingSolo or #GirlOnlineGoingSolo the emoji appears.
According to Nielsen BookScan data, Sugg is the most successful author/vlogger publishing in the UK at the moment. Her first two books, Girl Online and Girl Online: On Tour, had achieved value sales of £5.6m and volume sales of 845,882 by April this year.
She recently launched a book club with WH Smith, which sent sales of her chosen teen titles rocketing up the Amazon chart. Sales of Amy Alward’s The Potion Diaries (Simon & Schuster) increased more than 11,000%, whilst Nicola Yoon’s Everything Everything (Corgi Children’s) jumped 7,764%.
