Jeff Kinney’s Diper Överlöde (Puffin) ruled in the Children’s number one for a second week running, as Holly Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (Electric Monkey) thundered upwards eight places to hit second place, with the author’s newest, the barely a-month-old title Five Survive, jumping into eighth and the rest of the Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trilogy joining it in the top 10.
Continuing the TikTok Christmas holiday boost, Kathleen Glasgow’s Girl in Pieces (Oneworld) and Dustin Thao’s You’ve Reached Sam (Macmillan) zipped into the kids’ chart, as Adam Silvera’s prequel The First to Die at the End (S&S) returned in 15th, above They Both Die at the End in 17th.
Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s The Baddies (Alison Green) boomeranged back to the Pre-school number one, with the dynamite duo’s The Smeds and the Smoos joining it in second. Dr Alex George’s mental health guide A Better Day (Wren & Rook) zipped back up the Children’s Non-fiction chart, hitting third place, in a still annuals-heavy chart.
