Mrs Hinch crossed the aisle from Non-fiction to Children’s, with her picture book Welcome to Hinch Farm (Puffin), illustrated by Hannah George, sweeping into the kids’ pole with 15,855 copies sold. The cleaning influencer has previously notched up 10 weeks in the Hardback Non-Fiction number one, and shifted more than 1.3 million copies of her previous titles outside of lockdown alone.
Rachel Bright and Jim Field’s The Gecko and the Echo (Orchard) also made its début in the Pre-School & Picture Books list, with Bluey: My Mum is the Best (Ladybird) getting in early on the Mother’s Day market in 20th place.
Cassandra Clare’s final Chain of Thorns title The Last Hours (Walker) clocked into the Children’s &Young Adult Fiction number one, with Maiya Ibrahim’s Spice Road (Hodder) charting not at all gingerly in second. A F Steadman’s Skandar and the Unicorn Thief (S&S), out in paperback, Lauren Ellen Anderson’s Rainbow Grey: Battle for the Skies (Farshore) and Tahareh Mafi’s These Infinite Threads (Farshore) also made their débuts.
