Hey Duggee! The World Book Day Badge (BBC Children’s) has earned a third week in the Official UK Top 50 number one spot, selling 24,764 copies. It was joined at the top by its fellow World Book Day title, Peter Curtis’ Dinosaur Roar and Friends! (Macmillan Children’s), with the rest of the 2022 tranche charting in the top 17. Combined, the World Book Day line-up shifted just over 200,000 units in the week after the event itself.
It wasn’t only World Book Day books in the Children’s charts. Camilla Reid’s Peekaboo Chick (Nosy Crow) débuted in the Pre-school top 20—the first flurry of what will soon be an avalanche of Easter-related titles—and Lee Newbery’s The Last Firefox (Puffin), the current Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month, entered the Children’s & YA Fiction chart in joint-12th place.
