Fredrik Backman’s A Man Called Ove (Sceptre) thundered into the Bookstat e-book chart for the week ending 11th February. Despite being published in print in 2015, the recent Tom Hanks-starring film adaptation, “A Man Called Otto”, has helped boost the e-book.
D S Butler’s Find Her Alive (Thomas & Mercer) débuted in second place, the highest-charting début of six to feature in the Bookstat top 10. Patricia Gibney’s Three Widows (Bookouture) hit fourth, as Catharina Maura’s The Temporary Wife (Ichara), Ken Follett’s A Place Called Freedom (Pan), Gill Hornby’s Godmersham Park (Penguin) and J D Robb’s Encore in Death (Little,Brown) filed into places sixth to ninth.
Elly Griffiths’ The Last Remains (Quercus), one of five new entries to the chart, claimed the Publisher E-Book Ranking top spot for the week ending 4th February, displacing Sara Nisha Adams’ The Reading List (HarperCollins). Jane Harper’s Exiles (Macmillan), Jojo Moyes’ Someone Else’s Shoes (Penguin) and Dilly Court’s Dolly’s Dream (HarperCollins) débuted in the top 10, with the latter two also charting in the Original Fiction and Mass Market Fiction number ones respectively in the same week.
