Lee and Andrew Child’s No Plan B (Transworld Digital) thundered into the Bookstat e-book number one in its first week. Though its print sales were at their lowest for a hardback in the series since 2015, its e-book sales show no sign of slowing down, with Bookstat reporting an estimated 31,814 units sold in its first week.
J M Dalgliesh’s Angel of Death (Hamilton) soared into second place, pushing the previous week’s number one, Colleen Hoover’s It Starts with Us (S&S), into third. Dalgliesh’s crime novels are a regular feature in the Bookstat chart, with the previous Hidden Norfolk series title, The Raven Song, topping the chart as recently as June.
Patricia Cornwell’s Livid (Sphere) and Jo Bartlett’s Mistletoe and Magic for the Cornish Midwife (Boldwood) also entered the chart, in ninth and 10th respectively.
It Starts with Us did claim the Publisher E-Book Ranking number one, in the same week its hard-back soared to the top of the Nielsen BookScan print charts with more than 120,000 copies sold. George R R Martin’s Fire and Blood (HarperVoyager) bounced back up the ranking as the HBO television adaptation aired its dragon-heavy season finale episode, while John Grisham’s The Boys from Biloxi (Hodder & Stoughton) was the second-highest new entry.
Clarification: Hachette has stated that Livid sold 3,845 copies.
