Rachel McLean’s The Fossil Beach Murders (Ackroyd) dusted off the Bookstat e-book number one for the week ending 16th April. McLean’s previous titles have become staples in the Bookstat chart—The Corfe Castle Murders has notched up a particularly long string of appearances, as recently as a week ago.
The Fossil Beach Murders nudged Lisa Jewell’s former number one The Night She Disappeared (Penguin) into second place, as Graham Norton’s The Swimmer (Coronet) and Mhairi McFarlane’s Mad About You (HarperCollins) made their débuts in the top five. Lisa Regan’s Watch Her Disappear (Bookouture) and Ember Blake’s Runaway Train (Thomas Crown) also hit the chart’s top 10.
Ben Aaronovitch’s Amongst Our Weapons (Orion), the ninth title in the Rivers of London series, surged into the Publisher E-Book Ranking pole for the week ending 9th April. Susan Lewis’ I Have Something to Tell You (HarperCollins) hit second place as Julia Quinn’s Romancing Mr Bridgerton and To Sir Phillip, with Love (both Little,Brown) continued to chart high.
Beth O’Leary’s The Flatshare (Quercus) was an e-book chart stalwart across Lockdown 1.0 two years ago—her subsequent titles The Switch and The Road Trip have also performed strongly in digital. Her new title, The No-Show, made itself visible, débuting in eighth place.
Clarification: Hachette has stated that The Swimmer sold 7,682, Watch Her Disappear 4,889 and Romancing Mr Bridgerton 2,503.
