Elly Griffiths’ 15th and final Dr Ruth Galloway title, The Last Remains (Quercus), débuted atop the Bookstat chart for the week ending 4th February. This is Griffiths’ first top spot in the e-book chart since The Bookseller began running the chart in January 2020.
Alison Stockham’s The Cuckoo Sister (Boldwood), Weina Dai Randel’s Night Angels (Lake Union), Jane Fallon’s Just Got Real (Penguin) and Fredrick Backman’s A Man Called Ove (Sceptre), boosted by the Tom Hanks-starring film adaptation’s release in UK cinemas, also débuted in the top five.
Conveniently given the Market Focus in this issue of The Bookseller, romance seemed on the cards for e-book buyers, with Colleen Hoover’s It Ends with Us (S&S), Sara Nisha Adams’ The Reading List (HarperCollins) and Beth O’Leary’s The No-Show (Quercus) hitting the top 10.
Adams’ The Reading List booked in a place at the top of the Publisher E-Book Ranking for the week ending 28th January, knocking Prince Harry’s Spare (Transworld) from the top. Bella Mackie’s How to Kill Your Family (The Borough Press) also returned to the top three. Christine Feehan’s Recovery Road (Little,Brown) débuted in sixth place.
Clarification: Hachette has stated that The Last Remains sold 8,768 copies, A Man Called Ove 5,383 and The No-Show 4,479.
