Simon McCleave’s The Lake Vyrnwy Killings (Stamford) sailed into the Bookstat e-book number one spot for the week ending 26th February. McCleave has notched up a string of appearances in the Bookstat chart with his DI Ruth Hunter series, though this is his first number one. Jackie Kabler’s psychological thriller The Perfect Couple (One More Chapter) bounced into second place, as Anthony Horowitz’s Magpie Murders (Orion), adapted into a TV series by BritBox and Amazon Prime, rose into the top five.
Marian Keyes’ Again, Rachel (Penguin) made its debut in the Publisher E-Book Ranking number one spot, in its first week on the virtual shelves. Its predecessor Rachel’s Holiday, originally published 25 years ago, also leapt into the e-book top 10 for the week ending 19th February.
Cathy Glass’ Neglected (HarperElement) and Dilly Court’s Runaway Widow (HarperCollins) also entered the top three. Gregg Hurwitz’s Dark Horse (Penguin) galloped into fifth place, as James Oswald’s All That Lives (Headline) drew breath in seventh.
Clarification: Hachette has stated that Magpie Murders has sold 5,856 copies; The Ship of Brides 5,009; The New Wife 4,956 and The Rebound 1,893.
