Bella Mackie’s How to Kill Your Family (The Borough Press) spent a second week in the Mass-Market Fiction number one slot, as Meg Mason’s Sorrow and Bliss (W&N) and John le Carré’s Silverview (Penguin) débuted in the top four. James Patterson’s Death of the Black Widow (Penguin), Shari Lapena’s Not a Happy Family (Penguin) and Taylor Jenkins Reid’s Malibu Rising (Penguin) crowded into the top 10.
Jennifer Saint’s Elektra (Wildfire) surged straight into the Original Fiction number one. Saint’s 2021 title Ariadne sold 26,085 copies in hardback, and after three days on sale Elektra is 20% of the way there. Patterson and Maxine Paetro’s 22 Seconds (Century) and Stuart MacBride’s No Less the Devil (Bantam) joined Elektra in the top three, as Emily St John Mandel’s Sea of Tranquility (Picador) and Candice Carty-Williams’ People Person (Trapeze) débuted in the category chart’s top half.
