Richard Osman was high and dry in Original Fiction, with The Bullet that Missed (Viking) over 10,000 units
clear of Bob Mortimer’s second- placed The Satsuma Complex (S&S). The TV presenter-turned-cosy crime author may be challenging Charles Dickens for the title of “Mr Christmas”, as the newest Thursday Murder Club paperback, The Man Who Died Twice (Penguin), bounced back into the Mass-Market Fiction number one. This is only Osman’s second fiction chart double of the year, after Colleen Hoover blocked one or the other fiction number ones for much of the autumn, with either It Starts with Us or It Ends with Us (S&S).
Harlan Coben’s The Match (Penguin) entered the Mass Market Fiction top 20 in sixth, after being announced as a Richard and Judy Book Club pick last week.
