Lucinda Riley’s The Murders at Fleat House (Pan) took the Mass-Market Fiction number one for a second week, selling 10,706 copies. This is the author’s first title to chart top of the category chart since her death was announced last June and, with one more week at the top, it could become her longest-running number one in Mass-Market Fiction to date.
Mark Billingham’s The Murder Book (Little,Brown) bounded up Mass-Market Fiction to claim second place, as J P Delaney’s My Darling Daughter (Quercus) became the highest-charting new entry, in 10th. Val Wood’s Winter’s Daughter (Penguin) and Jennifer Saint’s Elektra (Wildfire) also entered the chart, in 16th and 19th respectively.
Colleen Hoover’s It Starts with Us (S&S) returned to the Original Fiction number one, knocking Hannah Kaner’s Godkiller (HarperVoyager) from the top after just one week. Another 2022 hit, Bonnie Garmus’ Lessons in Chemistry (Doubleday), bounced up to join it in second, and Richard Osman’s The Bullet that Missed (Viking) returning to the top three.
In contrast to Trade Non-fiction, last week saw Adult Fiction climb in sales year on year, with volume up 0.4% and value up 6.1%.
