Lucinda Riley’s The Missing Sister (Pan) made its début in the Mass-Market Fiction number one. The author, whose death was announced in June 2021 after a four-year battle with cancer, has sold 1.6 million books through the TCM, yet this is her first title to hit the top of the category chart. The Missing Sister is the penultimate title in her Seven Sisters series, which will now be completed by her son. The hardback edition was by far her biggest seller in the format, and with the paperback shifting 15,895 copies in three days, it could be set for another record.
In Original Fiction, Dolly Parton and James Patterson’s Run Rose Run (Michael Joseph) bloomed into the top spot, ahead of Mother’s Day. Harlan Coben’s The Match (Century) and Erica James’ Mothers and Daughters (HQ) also débuted.
