Kay Featherstone and Kate Allinson’s Pinch of Nom Comfort Food (Bluebird) reigned for a ninth week in Hardback Non-Fiction, as LalalaLetMeExplain’s Block, Delete, Move On (Bantam) entered the chart in third place. The anonymous relationship expert, whose Instagram boasts just under 190,000 followers, sold 6,534 copies in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day.

While Michael Mosley’s Fast 800 Keto (Short) scored a seventh straight week atop the Paperback Non-Fiction chart, Adam Kay’s This is Going to Hurt (Picador) made a return to the category chart. With its BBC television adaptation beginning last week, its TV tie-edition debuted in second place, while the original 2018 paperback boomeranged back into eighth place.

This is Going to Hurt notched up 54 weeks as the Paperback Non-Fiction number one across 2018 and 2019, returning for a five-week stretch during Lockdown 1.0 in spring 2020, as the sacrifices of NHS workers were very much on the nation’s collective mind. The launch of the Ben Whishaw-starring TV series boosted the paperback 216% in volume week on week, for its highest volume since Christmas 2020 (excluding lockdown weeks).
