L J Ross’ The Shrine has blessed the Bookstat e-book chart number one with its highest-ever estimated volume.
The Shrine by L J Ross (pictured) has blessed the Bookstat e-book chart number one with its highest-ever estimated volume. The self-published author is no stranger to the chart, following a four-week run for Ryan’s Christmas in January, but this is her first top spot since the chart began running in The Bookseller at the beginning of the year. Angela Marsons’ Killing Mind also débuted, scoring second place, while Bookouture stablemate Sue Watson’s The Sister-in-Law hit eighth place.
In the Publisher E-Book Ranking for the week ending 9th May, Delia Owens’ Where the Crawdads Sing once again hit the right chord with the e-book buying public, swiping a third straight week as the number one. After spending April at a lower price point, both Harriet Tyce’s Blood Orange and Beth O’Leary’s The Flatshare thundered back into the top 10, priced at £3.99 apiece, having garnered multiple weeks in the Bookstat top three during their stint at 99p. Bernardine Evaristo’s Girl, Woman, Other leapt back into the Publisher top 10—the Booker winner has remained solid in sales terms in both the paperback and e-book rankings throughout the UK lockdown.
Clarification Hachette has stated that Killing Mind sold 36,392 units; The Silent Patient 21,703; The Sister-in-Law 10,239; Where the Crawdads Sing 7,228; and Has Anyone Seen My Sex Life? 7,755.
