When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit
Based on the extraordinary true story of Kerr's childhood, this is the tale of nine-year-old Anna. An ordinary little girl living in Germany, one day her father disappears, and then the rest of the family rush out of the country, leaving behind everything they knew. The rest of the trilogy tells how Anna and her family get used to living as Jewish refugees in England during the war, and how art and drawing helped her find herself.
Goodbye Mog
Kerr's stories of the naughty tabby cat, first published in 1970, are some of her most popular. In 2002 when she was 80, she wrote Goodbye Mog, in which the kitty died, but remained as a ghost for a while to see what the family got up to.
My Henry
In 2011 Kerr tackled death and grieving again in her picturebook about an old lady who keeps having adventures with her husband even after his death, including riding a dinosaur and visiting the Sphinx.
