I’ve always been drawn to books with unreliable narrators. I’m also drawn to books with villainous narrators. These two techniques, of course, go hand in hand, often setting up a reader for a twist ending or a big reveal. The following are my favorite novels in which the narrator is a murderer, or the narrator turns out to be the murderer that the detective has been looking for all alone. Here comes the part where I state the obvious: Spoilers Ahead. Although I will say that all of these books amount to more than their twists, and are worth reading even if you know some of their secrets.
