From AI to freedom of speech, The Society of Authors has a crucial and powerful role to play in protecting the interests of authors, illustrators and translators, as well as campaigning for the wider cultural environment. In this speech, its outgoing president Nicola Solomon - also a Deputy District Judge, a board member of the International Authors’ Forum and the British Copyright Council, and Chair of the Creators’ Rights Alliance - looks back at her past 13 years in the industry and makes her thoughtful predictions for what’s to come with AI firmly in her sights.
