Abraha makes Forbes 30 under 30 list

Publisher and writer Magdalene Abraha has been included on the Forbes 30 under 30 Europe list – the only publishing professional to be recognised this year. 

Abraha was a Bookseller Rising Star in 2019, and was awarded the LBF Trailblazer award in 2020 for her contribution to publishing. 

In addition to writing for numerous publications, she has worked at Bloomsbury and is head of editorial and marketing at Jacaranda. She is known for creating and spearheading diverse book campaigns such as her recent A Quick Ting On series.

“It’s really lovely to be listed alongside some brilliant people on the the Forbes 30 under 30 list. Unexpected, but truly an honour,” she told The Bookseller.

Also listed was poet Sophia Thakur, whose second collection, Wearing My Mother’s Heart will be published in October 2022 with Walker Books.
