A third Academic Book Week has been confirmed for the latter part of April, although without the support of an official funding partner.
The week-long celebration of academic books, which last year took place in January, is scheduled this year to run from 23rd-28th April. It is hoped that academics, universities, libraries, publishers and booksellers will take part.
Last year ABW featured a list of "Academic Books that Shaped Modern Britain". This year's event is set to feature a survey on "20 Academic Books by Women that Changed the World".
The Booksellers Association is managing ABW, but this year the event does not have an official funding partner. The inaugural week was funded by the Academic Book of the Future Project and last year's event by the British Library.
The main point of contact will be Alan Staton at the Booksellers Association and those wishing to register their events for the week asked to contact alan.staton@booksellers.org.uk.
As in previous years, the event's Twitter hashtag will be #AcBookWeek.
