404 Ink has launched the Kickstarter for its "fourth wave" of Inklings, the publisher’s "ground-breaking" non-fiction list.
Initially launched in 2021 after a successful crowdfunding campaign, 404 Ink is aiming to raise an initial £10,000 to support the fourth iteration of the Inkling list.
"The Inklings series is something we’re incredibly proud of and we’re excited to see it continue to break the mould and redefine what the series can be with this latest wave of titles," said Heather McDaid, publishing director. "The fact that we have made it to 32 books (so far!) against the backdrop of these last few years-COVID, Brexit, the cost of living crisis, to name just a few one-in-a-lifetime events-is testament to the readers who continually rally behind 404 Ink and other independent publishers, especially in such tough times."
The new Inkling class includes Polari Prize winner Adam Zmith with Solemates: A History of Our Fetish for Feet and Francesca Sobande and Layla-Roxanne Hill with their book, Look, Don’t Touch: Reflections on our Freedom to Feel. The series will explore themes such as queer community, sex, colonialism, the future of our planet and language.
