Dapo Adeola will be speaking to Ken Wilson-Max on Instagram Live this week about their experiences as two of just four black British illustrators currently being published in children's books.
Adeola (pictured) will host the talk on 16th June at 6 p.m., part of an ongoing series of Instagram Live sessions that has included chats with author and screenwriter Nathan Bryon, author and illustrator Vashti Harrison and Knights Of co-founder Aimée Felone among others.
He promised the new talk would see the pair discuss their careers and have “a long overdue chat about our experiences in the industry, what it’s like being one of four black British illustrators and the 34-year gap between our debuts”.
“Trust me, you won’t wanna miss this one,” Adeola

Adeola is a young illustrator and character designer whose first book, Look Up!, was written by Nathan Bryon and published by Puffin in May 2019.
Last week he signed an open letter by Dorothy Koomson calling for better treatment of black authors by the publishing industry instead of “public posturing”.
