Priyal Agrawal has been appointed commissioning editor at HQ Fiction, joining HarperCollins on Monday 20th November.
Currently assistant editor at Headline, Agrawal recently acquired and published TikTok sports romance author Grace Reilly, Bryn Turnbull and debut romantic novelist Breea Keenan and assisted across the publishing of authors such as Amanda Geard and Diane Chamberlain. Prior to Headline, she worked at Hodder & Stoughton where she assisted on key brands, including Stephen King, David Nicholls and Jodi Picoult.
At HQ, Agrawal will commission contemporary fiction, historical and romance. Agrawal said: "I have spent a fantastic three years at Hachette, across Headline and Hodder, working with hugely talented authors and agents, as well as my lovely and incredibly generous colleagues. I am delighted to be taking this next step in my career and am so looking forward to working with the brilliant team at HQ to discover new voices in commercial women’s fiction."
HQ publisher Kate Mills added: "I’m delighted to welcome Priyal to HQ. She’s got a fabulous eye for fiction, a smart proactive approach to her publishing and her passion for contemporary fiction shines through. I look forward to Priyal building her own list of authors as HQ continues to grow."
