Comedian and actor Alan Davies is publishing a memoir, Just Ignore Him, with Little, Brown.
The book has been described as “a beautifully told story of resilience and redemption, sometimes blackly comic, frequently heart breaking”. It will be published by Little, Brown in September 2020, after Robert Kirby at United Agents sold UK and Commonwealth rights to publishing director Richard Beswick.
While travelling back and forth through childhood, adolescence and adulthood, in his memoir Davies will chart the landscape of his 1970s Essex upbringing – before and after his mother's death when he was six years old – and his relationship with his controlling, abusive father.
The last book Davies published was Teenage Revolution with Penguin a decade ago.
