Publishers from Harper Collins and Simon and Schuster will take part in the Northern Fiction Alliance’s mentorship scheme, which connects early-career publishers from Northern indie presses with seasoned professionals.
Alice Murphy-Pyle, who is head of marketing and publicity at Harper North, working across fiction and non-fiction, will be partnered with George Forster, publicity and marketing officer at Comma Press in Manchester. Meanwhile, Hayley McMullan, who is director of marketing and insight at Simon and Schuster and also works across fiction and non-fiction, will be partnered with Bekkii Paley, marketing assistant at Dead Ink Books in Liverpool.
The Northern Fiction Alliance aims to bridge the gap in training and networking opportunities for publishers based in the North of England. This is the second round of mentorships launched as part of this program.
